Manix is one of Detroit’s first Hip Hop producers. Manix has worked with just about everyone in the Detroit hip hop/rap scene from Eminem, Big Proof, Kid Rock and Frizzo. Manix was the Dr. Dre of beats. for Eminem before Dr. Dre discovered him. His production style is very technical but organic. His love for Hip Hop and all music genres at its roots is pure. in an era of culture vultures that latch onto the musical art form as a “get rich quick” scheme, Manix has endured decades witnessing the cultural transition of Hip Hop in relative obscurity as he sticks to the original formula of beatmaking that first caught the ear of a young Marshal Mathers while attending Lincoln High School in Warren, MI
Update: Michael Joseph Ruby AKA ‘Manix passed away October 19th, 2021 at his home in Michigan at the age of 49 from a heart attack. His musical offerings to Detroit Hip Hop will always be respected and appreciated. RIP Manix
